"The Christian who is pure and without fault, from God the Father's point of view, is the one who takes care of orphans and widows, and who remains true to the Lord, not soiled and dirtied by his contacts with the world."
~ James 2:27

Don't look at the big picture and focus on what you think you haven't overcome, look at the small steps and realize the strength that you've gained just since yesterday. Each day will bring new peace as you travel your journey.

God's Word about Grief
First of all, always remember that God loves you, and has great plans for your life. You may not understand each phase of your journey, but that is where you must rely upon your faith in Him. He knows that you're hurting, and He knows why each tear is shed. Because of this, He has given you many supportive and loving scriptures to help you through these times of pain. Read through these verses and find two or three that speak to your heart and that you can lean upon throughout each day. They will begin to help you heal. This, I know. Philippians 4:13 was the verse that changed my life and my outlook on pushing through the hurt.

53:4-5
Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our

Isaiah
61:1-3
The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the
LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind
up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from
darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor and the
day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those
who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of
a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting

slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be
comforted.

Corinthians 15:42-44
So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The
body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in
dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in
power; it is sown a natural
body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is
also a spiritual body.
2
Corinthians 1:3-4
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us
in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the
comfort we ourselves have received from God.
1
Thessalonians 4:13-18
Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those
who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope.
We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God
will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
According to the Lord’s own word, we tell you that we who are still
alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede
those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from
heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the
trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we
who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the
clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
Therefore encourage each other with these words.
1 Peter 5:7
Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.
Revelation
14:13
Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write: Blessed
are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they
will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.”
Revelation
21:4
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be
no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has
passed away.”
